she says, if I leave before you, darlin'

Songs for now: "Naked as We Came," "History of Lovers," and "Love and Some Verses" by Iron & Wine (and Calexico). Also "Look After You" by the Fray (whose bassist I met, walking down the street the other day). Also just about anything by Coldplay, whose music I have only just discovered in earnest.

Above: illustration for a wedding invitation and program.

Thinking a lot about: love, friendship, what's going to happen in the next few months, springtime, the possibility of 10" of snow tonight. Travel, leaving, teaching. Sending out my book, as my advisor says I should. Twenty-three papers to grade. Skirts and shirts and drawings, figuring out how to make sleeves correctly. People who are gone, going to people.

And you?

Sounds like you have much happening in all areas. The skirts are beautiful, you always inspire me to think about skirts (a skirt girl, I'm not...exactly...but I could be). And that illustration is just perfect.

I'm thinking about, hmmmm...summer. Making some summer plans for my kids, and, in effect, myself. Trying to also figure out where my crafting time fits in to our family equation. (Hard)

glad you're back:)
I'm thinking about beauty, and order, and working and careers and friends and balance and thai food.
and I'm wishing for peace.
Oh - and I'm constantly thinking ahead to 2008.
I love the snow when it comes at unexpected times....

I feel so lucky that you-all are around.

Blair--thank you. Skirts for all, I say!

Martha--2008: me, too, and I assume for similar reasons. Peace (or the possibility thereof) being one of them.

Lisa-in-the-hand--Thank you. You are sweet. I love it when musical taste works out like that, and there is nothing better than a work-partner who likes the same music.

Musing-Lisa--thanks for the suggestion; I've been thinking of trying Prairie Wind out but haven't got the nerve. Neil Diamond! Yow! Good luck with the grading. I am going to speed-grade to music tomorrow, I think.

Hello you ! Snow is here too ! But I'm totally impatient to see the sunshine here for a long time ! I'm impatient to be in spring, to be in summer, I'm thinking of all these things I'd like to make and time goes by too quickly. I'd like sometimes to have the "time machine" and click on the "pause" button, just to hear birds flying !! Spring is in the air ! I can feel it ! So I wish you a sunny and springy week ! Smooches from Belgium :)
