Sometimes I think of this weblog as a record of the things I allow myself to give up. I was a packrat as a kid, and still am in some ways, although the pending trans-Atlantic move is helping me give things away. These are the last two of a set of four bowls my mom gave me when I first moved out of the house--I've had them for 8 years! My friend is coming over today and I know she likes these bowls. You can't take it with you is my motto of the hour.

Such pretty bowls, and such a nice gesture to give them to your friend.
I know exactly what you mean. The record keeping aspect of blogging has made it much easier to cut up fabric I love, give things away, etc. Clearing the clutter feels good right now to me, I'm doing more than ever. I've always been a packrat.
What a lovely picture. You said it just right - the fact that it exists on my blog is enough for me to give it away or cut it up or sell it.
Lovely bowls and a lovely sentiment!
have fun packing-wow-it is really hard to do! When i packed for my year in France I brought all the wrong things, too many sandal and not one pair of boots! Good luck giving away things-abby
great shot... and i have been thinking about similar things....
i am jealous of the release... i still am a packrat.... maybe that's the next thing to work on.....
psst...where are you moving? did i miss that post??
Lucky Friend-
Hey, can we(you, maybe) organize another swap that incorporates this idea of purging great crafty usefulness.
If you wanna do it, count me in! Can't take it with ya!
Beautiful, to both the idea & photo. cheers, LJ
Yes, they are lovely bowls and an even lovelier gesture. I was the very lucky recipient!
